NutriBalance ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the NutriBalance app ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password.

Profile data: To calculate your calorie and macro targets, you provide age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and goal. This data is stored on our servers and used solely to personalise your nutrition plan.

Food & nutrition logs: Meals, portions, and micronutrient data you log are stored to provide your history, progress charts, and streak tracking.

Weight logs: Weight entries you record are stored to power your progress charts and auto-update your calorie goal.

Usage data: We collect anonymised crash reports and performance data via Sentry to identify and fix bugs.

Purchase data: Subscription status is managed via RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details — these are handled by Apple or Google.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalise the App (calorie targets, macro splits, progress charts, deficiency alerts)
To manage your account and subscription
To power gamification features (streaks, XP, leagues, achievements)
To diagnose crashes and improve App performance
To send optional push notifications about your daily streak (you can disable these in your device notification settings)
To operate the affiliate program (if you apply as an affiliate: your name, email, and promotional activity are used to calculate and process commission payouts via Stripe)
To send transactional emails such as account verification and affiliate onboarding

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the App:

Railway / Supabase (PostgreSQL) — backend hosting and database storage
RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management
Sentry — anonymised crash and error reporting (no personally identifiable information is transmitted)
Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered food label scanning and nutrition coaching (your food descriptions are sent to process your request and are not retained by Anthropic)
Stripe — payment processing for affiliate program payouts. If you participate in our affiliate program, your name, email, and bank account details are collected and processed by Stripe under their own Privacy Policy.
Resend — transactional email delivery (e.g., email verification, affiliate welcome emails). Your email address is shared solely to deliver these communications.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and log data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes all your personal data from our servers within 30 days.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to our backend servers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We require all users to confirm they are 13 years or older during registration. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at thenutritrackerapp@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies & Analytics

The App itself does not use browser cookies. Our website (officialnutribalance.app) may use basic analytics to understand traffic. No cross-site tracking is performed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
